Loopy Case hack!!

Picture
So I have been wanting a LoopyCase ever since MacKenzie Monroe over atBold Turquoise began raving about hers.  BUT - I have an iPhone 5s and since we use Virgin Mobile, the possibility of us upgrading to an iPhone6 any time soon is pretty low.
I was on the LoopyCase site the other day and noticed that they sell replacement loops in packs so I ordered some.  And today, I made my own "Loopy Case!" Check out my 'Scope on it here.
I used the case at the affilink below.  It works perfectly! You want a case that's slightly flexible and maybe a little rubbery.  The silicone from LoopyCase is great- thick, durable, etc. But for a cheaper solution, you could hack the loop with a little silicone bracelet cut at an angle.
I want to encourage you, though - if you have an iPhone 6 or a Galaxy, or an iteration serviced by LoopyCases, buy from them. Hacks are fun, but this is someone else's brilliant idea.  They deserve to be paid for it.

I ordered a loopy case when they were in kickstart. I paid $40 for it with shipping. I love the Loopy case. It's is the best case out there. However, $40 I a bit steep for the plastic case you get IMHO. Again IMHO I think if they sold these at $20-$25 they would sell a ton more. I would have bought another when the first one was gaffeled by my girlfriend accept I did exactly what you did and made one for about $7 and this is using the band purchased from loopy case. Not a bracelet. Which I tried but they aren't as durable as the ones you get from Loopy. And I tried many. So my summery is that the Loopy Case is a very clever idea and would probably become a household name brand if they made them more affordable. $40 is a lot for what you get. I know a lot of people won't have a problem shelling out $40 for a plastic case but I do because I know I can make 5 of them for that price and all I need is my drill and a quick trip to Ross (they sell cheap plastic cases like the ones Loopy uses. For $4-$6)
I would personally love see Loopy do well but I think they are over priced.
